Forty years ago today, I was busy putting up our christmas tree when the first pangs of labor started in my lower back. As a young 20 year old, in unfamiliar surroundings, I was so excited and terrified at the same time! I had only been living in California for about 3 months when my first child arrived at 11:43 in the evening. A beautiful baby girl who the most incredible human I had ever met! This little human was completely dependent on me. I relished the challenge, and I was completely in love!
Today she is a whip smart intelligent person, with strong opinions (even as a toddler, and teenager!). This young woman posesses a strong center core of what’s right and wrong! She has a really good sense of herself, and her place in the world. She is one of the most positive and loyal people I know. That wonderful newborn is now herself a mother to three teenagers, and wife to a military husband. She really is one of the finest people I know, and I am so proud: she is my darling daughter Heather!
Heather is my best friend, and I count her among the best blessings in my life.
Happy Birthday My Sweet Girl!
How about a birhtday card for Heather!
For Heather’s card today, I created the background by using embossing ink on the Classy Stripes Stencil with clear embossing powder. I then stamped my flowers from the Cherished Memories Stamp Set onto the background and wiped the excess ink away from the embossed portion to create a kind of “window screen” effect.
To add a bit of framing for the greeting, I used my ink cube around the edges of the sentiment.
The washi tape and sequins created a bit of extra interest and was added along with the die cut flowers and leaves.
I hope you have enjoyed a little peek into my life. I hope my daughter has a wonderful birthday today, and many more ahead of her! I miss her greatly, and hope to see her soon after the pandemic ends!
Thanks,
Rachael
