Hey Crafty Friends,

Just wanted to share today’s little project.

I put this lovely little card together for a friend that is going thru some challenges to let her know she is not alone!

I used the Coral Sunset Paint a Flower stamp set from Altenew, and added some washi tape, and inked dots.

Technique

I have a technique I use to cut out a stamp that does not have a matching die to get pretty good results.

I actually turn the paper over after it has been stamped, and trace the “outline of the stamp” onto the back of my stamped image.

A “faux die cut”!

This gives me just enough border to create a die cut appearance of the image. You can see the technique below.

Thanks

I always appreciate your comments and feedback. I hope to hear from you.

xoxo Rachael

Begin by stamping your image on a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 piece of cardstock.

Turn your image over and place your stamp on top of the reverse image in order to trace the outline of the stamp. (I use a lightbox, but it’s not necessary as long as you have good lighting behind your image)

After you have traced the image, fussy cut from the reverse side. Be careful when cutting that you don’t stray into the stamped image. Now you have your “faux die-cutting”!
